I don't think he's the best driver on the grid...

Completely agreed.....
I've been liking Hamilton more and more these past 2 years though. He's definitely a much better driver than Rosberg....
I think tops on the grid are Alonso, Hamilton, and then Vettel in terms of skill and grit......
Rosberg is just the luckiest

He's not. But he has the best car.

Yeah. Vettel has been pretty lucky too, but he's probably one of the top three as well. I mean, he has to be at this point, right? I've always found myself rooting for Hamilton, despite also deeply hating his attitude. But I like that he has some sort of personality, even if it is irritating.

very true... I think that's what I like about Hamilton... He wears his heart on his sleeve and he just says and does what he wants.... He's rarely one to not vent his frustrations, but he has become much more mature. He doesn't bash his team as much as he used... He strategically encourages them. Vettel has become the same way with bashing his team too.

Agreed. Been rooting for Hamilton. But it hasn't gone his way for awhile. But the rookie Magnussen really impresses me. Excited to see what the future hold for him.

Yes! Magnussen, Ricciardo and Bottas have all been huge this season. I've been liking Bottas since last year, mostly thanks to that in-helmet camera he kept having on his head. But he has no attitude whatsoever, or at least none I've seen.

I like all three of them. But I agree. Magnussen though has impressed me since the first race of the season. And thought qualifying and races. I'm rooting for him every race. And then Hamilton for the win.

Rosberg is my prefered driver right now, just because Lewis seems to have lost his mind a little bit. Jenson (My favorite) not being at the pointy end of the grid has had me look at Rosberg as my favorite once jenson retires. He's likeable, fast, funny, and just knows how to race a car.

I like Rosberg, he deserves where he is. Plus, watching every race, I'm getting reeeeeeeally tired of hearing hamilton whine because he's not in front, making up shit about his team not giving him the edge and, in general, being a bitch. And the fact that he is a complete tool outside the car doesn't make things better.

This is working out to be the story of the 2014 season.
Will Hamilton's shitty luck hand Rosberg the world championship, or can he rebound and take it back?

This pisses me off no end. The only reason Rosberg's still ahead is because Hamilton's had 2 DNFs for Rosberg's 0, neither of which were his fault.
If anyone can catch up, Hamilton can, which I'm thoroughly hoping will happen.

I'm going to hate on Hamilton a little there. Both cars had the same issue in Canada, Rosberg ended up on the podium and Hamilton ended up DNF. That one did come down to the driver. Australia, not that was a fluke and he should have won that one. I agree that Hamilton is the only one who can him, but I don't think he will.

I'm worried that he won't either.
I'd also say that Hamilton being behind exacerbated the problems he was having in Canada, and having his car shit the bed first gave Rosberg a chance to back off , preserve his brakes and finish the race.
Oh, and Hamilton was hamstrung by pitstops this race. His were consistently slower than Rosberg's, and not by a tiny amount either. One was 0.9 seconds slower, which is a yawning gap in F1 terms. If his had been sharper, he'd have been very close to Rosberg a lot sooner than the final lap.
He's far from blameless though I'll add. If he hadn't run wide and had a lap disallowed in qualy, he'd have been further up the field at the start. That could have made all the difference, but he made a mistake.

The pit stop thing is a little confusing to me. It hasn't only been this race either. Very odd. I'm wondering if the team will really let them race all year or if they will reign them in once the constructors is locked down mathematically.

I'd have thought that they're more likely to let them race when the constructors is locked down. That way there's no way they can lose even if both crash into each other.
The pit stop thing is probably just really bad luck, although it could be a conspiracy!

I've been a Michael Schumacher fan since I first started watching in his Benetton days, so I enjoyed his and Ferrari's domination. So I'm trying not to be a hypocrite when it comes to Vettel's success of the past four years. But I admit that I have enjoyed watching him have a rough time of it. And I really enjoyed Felipe's pole position. So I'm enjoying the changes in the fortunes of the other teams this year, because I got tired of RB's dominance. So I guess that does make me a hypocrite, since I had no problem at all with Ferrari's past dominance.

Honestly, it's never fun when anyone gets too dominant for too long even if it happens to be your favorite team and driver. I liked Vettel when he first won in 2009 even though my guy (Alonso) lost. I was completely sick of Vettel and RB by 2011. I was a Ferrari fan but not an MS fan in his era so I was torn, but I found most of those years terribly boring. That's also why I'm not a fan of this in-season testing/development freeze bullshit. These days if you start with a car that might be behind in an area you're stuck with it. As Steve Machett says, that ain't Formula One. Don't even get me started on this hybrid business....

It sounds like you and I have very similar feelings. I'm still pulling for Ferrari every race, and I'm amazed at how much Alonso can get out of that pig of a car. But this engine freeze is dreadful, and killing the sport.
